Joanne Murray has been providing Employee Assistance Counselling programs in the Blue Mountains and Central West areas since 2008. She has the experience to provide any business or company with a professional EAP program. Via the process of partnership and consultation Joanne assists Managers and Human Resource personnel to develop and implement suitable EAP programs. She develops partnerships with companies and organisations to promote positive organisational performance, improve employee well-being and expand workplace efficiency.

Joanne is also a Workcover Approved Counselling Provider – providing assessment, treatment and management to people who are on workers compensation.

What is an Employee Assistance Program?

Your EAP is a counselling service that is provided by your employer. It is independent, free (a number of sessions are funded by your employer), confidential, voluntary and non-judgemental. EAP counselling is available to all employees when issues arise that begin to impact on your emotional and/or physical well being. Family members may also be eligible to access this service. You do not need permission from your employer to access EAP counselling.

EAP is confidential and private. No one, including your employer will know you have accessed EAP. Accessing EAP will not affect you employment, training opportunities or promotional advancement. Your information will not be shared with a third party unless you request it and authorise the counsellor to do so in writing.

EAP is provided external to your workplace

EAP counsellors, like other professionals, have mandatory reporting requirements. This means if the counsellor feels that your safety or the safety of somebody else is at serious risk, it may be necessary for the counsellor to disclose this information to a third party.

Appointments are easy to make. All you need to do is ring and organise an appointment at a day and time that suits you. It is not necessary to divulge the nature of the problem when organising an appointment.
